Common Footage has modified the discharge date on two main animated sequels, shifting Illumination’s Sing 2 to Friday, July 2, 2021, six months later than its initially scheduled December 23, 2020 launch, whereas pushing DreamWorks Animation’s The Croods 2 out three months into the vacated December 23 date from its initially scheduled launch on September 18, 2020, in accordance with a Deadline report.
Sing, written and directed by Garth Jennings and starring Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Hudson and Nick Kroll, generated greater than $634 million worldwide when it was launched in 2016. Jennings returns for the sequel, as do McConaughey, Witherspoon and Kroll, together with Taron Egerton and Tori Kelly.
Written and directed by Chris Sanders and Kirk DeMicco and starring Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone and Catherine Keener, The Croods took in additional than $587 million globally throughout its 2013 run. Veteran story artist Joel Crawford is helming the sequel, which has been in growth at DreamWorks for plenty of years. Cage, Reynolds, Stone and Keener return, joined by newcomers Peter Dinklage and Leslie Mann. DreamWorks first introduced the sequel again in April of 2013.
