‘Nubian queen’ turns into Sudan protest image

Video of a girl main chants in anti-government protests within the capital of Sudan, Khartoum, has been shared lots of of 1000’s of instances on Twitter.

She has been dubbed “Kandaka”, which suggests Nubian queen.

The protesters are calling for the resignation of President Omar al-Bashir who has been accused of human rights abuses and permitting political corruption.

Since protests started in December, 38 individuals have died, in response to authorities officers. Human Rights Watch says the quantity is larger.
