Former Brazilian President Michel Temer has been arrested as a part of a wide-ranging corruption investigation, native media say.
Native media say police had been making an attempt to hint Mr Temer, who left workplace on 1 January, since Wednesday.
The previous president has persistently denied any wrongdoing.
Dozens of politicians and enterprise executives have been convicted or are being charged as a part of the Operation Automotive Wash.
Mr Temer took over the Brazilian presidency in August 2016 following the impeachment of Dilma Rousseff, and was changed in January by Jair Bolsonaro.
