A 75-year-old man has been killed in Florida after he was attacked by a big flightless chicken he owned.
Alachua County Sheriff Division informed the BBC they have been referred to as to the person’s property on Friday and located the person badly wounded by a cassowary.
The person, named Marvin Hajos, was taken to hospital by paramedics the place he died from his accidents.
Police are investigating however say preliminary info suggests this was a “tragic accident”.
It occurred south of the town of Alachua in northern Florida.
“My understanding is that the gentleman was within the neighborhood of the chicken and in some unspecified time in the future fell. When he fell, he was attacked,” Deputy Chief Jeff Taylor informed the Gainesville Solar newspaper.
A girl on the property, who recognized herself as Mr Hajos’ accomplice, informed the newspaper he had been “doing what he cherished”.
Mr Hajos had saved unique animals, together with llamas, for many years, reviews from native newspapers say.
